Meet Obi
Obi was the second addition to our harem and joined our family in January 2025 as a birthday gift to myself, alongside his brother Vader. Together, they became the start of what we lovingly call our “Death Star Axies” — complete with their very own Star Wars-themed tank.
When Obi first came home, he was quiet and a little shy, preferring to keep to himself while he settled in. Over time, though, his personality truly blossomed. Much like his namesake, Obi has grown into a calm, wise little “Axie Jedi” with a gentle and peaceful nature.
One thing Obi is absolutely known for is his love of food. Mealtime is easily his favorite part of the day, and he has never once turned down a snack. From worms to pellets and everything in between, Obi is always excited to see what’s on the menu and enjoys the variety of foods we offer him.
Unlike some of our more adventurous axolotls, Obi prefers to stay close to the bottom of the tank rather than swimming high or exploring the upper areas. That said, he has a special talent for wedging himself into the strangest and funniest positions imaginable, often leaving us wondering how he got there in the first place.
Obi is incredibly friendly with his tank mates and enjoys the company of the other axies. More often than not, you’ll find him cozied up in a hide beside his brother Solo, relaxing peacefully after a good meal and keeping watch over his little corner of the galaxy.
