Don't let the name fool you—Chewy isn't chewing on anything (axolotls don't even have teeth for that kind of mischief!). His name comes from one of the galaxy's most loyal and lovable characters, and it couldn't suit him better.

Chewy is the definition of laid-back. He's happiest when he's lounging in his favourite “S Tube” hide, watching the world go by with those curious little eyes. He is often found with “Solo” and while axolotls are solitary creatures, these two can always be found together.

While Chewy may be easygoing most of the time, all bets are off when food hits the water! The moment he spots a worm, he transforms into a determined little speedster, racing to the front of the tank and shamelessly nudging his tank mates aside to make sure he gets first dibs. And if someone happens to leave a worm behind? Even better—Chewy is always on the lookout for seconds.

Gentle, easygoing, and impossible not to love, Chewy has a calming presence that balances out the more adventurous personalities in the sanctuary. Whether he's floating gracefully through the water, striking a dramatic pose for the camera, or simply relaxing after a meal, he reminds us that life doesn't always have to be rushed.
